"LowLevelFatalError" Crash (Psychonauts 2)

The most usual reason for this error is that the game does not meet minimum requirements. Psychonauts 2 requires a dedicated graphics card, integrated graphics chips such as those found on some Laptops (e.g. Intel Iris) may struggle to run the game. If you are receiving a "LowLevelFatalError" error message, and you meet the game's minimum hardware requirements, then try launching the game in DX11 mode.

On Steam

1. Right-click Psychonauts 2 in the Steam client and enter the Properties menu.
2. In the General section, enter the following text in the Launch options:
   -DX11

On XBox App/Game Pass:

In the Xbox App, right click the game and click "Manage"

1. Go to the Files tab and Browse button.
2. Navigate to Psychonauts 2\Content\Psychonauts2\Binaries\WinGDK
3. Right click on Psychonauts2-WinGDK-Shipping.exe
4. Click Show more options and then Create shortcut
5. Right click the shortcut and then Properties
6. In Target, add " -dx11" to the end (without quotes), after Shipping.exe  (the space before the dash is important)
7. That's it! You can move that shortcut to somewhere easier to find, or right click it and "Pin to Start"

DRM-free build:

1. Create a shortcut link to Psychonauts 2.
2. Right click the link, and enter the Properties menu
3. In the Target section, enter "-DX11" at the end. It should look something like this.
   ...DRMFree\Psychonauts2.exe -DX11
   You can move that shortcut to somewhere easier to find, or right click it and Pin to Start.
