PsychOdyssey Rides Again
A strange fact of life here at Double Fine is that the cameras are pretty much always running. 2 Player Productions, those canny cameramen and filmmakers, have been with us here at the studio for a long time and it's led to some fantastic documentaries on our games. Double Fine PsychOdyssey captured viewers attention and drew praise from critics for pulling back the curtain on Psychonauts 2's creation. We released that documentary two year ago and then released an awesome Blu-ray collector's set last year. The supply was limited and it was gobbled up quick.
Ah, well. I guess we're never gonna get any more chances to buy that. But what if...? That's right, we've partnered with Fangamer to bring back the PsychOdyssey physical edition for fans who missed their chance to snag it the first time around. This modified package ditched the steelbook for a folding sleeve but still comes packed with many great features. Don't take my word for it. Here's Tim, tearing one of these things apart!
As you can see from this breakdown, there's some nice stuff to love. The folding sleeve contains discs packed with the documentary as well as extra features like trailers and backer update videos. There's even fresh footage for this edition that 2 Player Production has fished out of their archive to share with the world. And all this comes with the “Documenting the Journey” booklet. This is 80 colorful pages packed with exclusive essays from the PsychOdyssey production team with an introduction by Polygon’s Chris Plante. A great companion to the series!
